From Alyth Square walk towards the Alyth Traditional Fish Bar then down Airlie Street till you reach St. Ninian’s Church on your right. Turn right into St. Ninian’s Road. Continue along this road ignoring the path signed for Johnshill Road just past the last of the houses. Pass West Pitnacree Farm and continue along the road eventually reaching Muirton Farm. The track continues through the farm to meet another track at a large tree and a sign for Drimmie Woods.

Turn right for Drimmie Woods. Ignore a track into a field on your right, and pass a corrugated hut used in the past to house fruit pickers.

The tree lined rough track continues uphill. After about 5 minutes where the track curves left, look for another green path sign for Alyth via Johnshill on your right climbing through a line of trees.

The narrow path climbs to meet a larger track where a post with a core path arrow directs you right behind the rear of a house. The house owner does not object to responsible walkers.

Pass a large green shed with a boat on a trailer.

Go through a metal gate and enter a wooded area where the path can be overgrown and uneven to reach a field gate. Pass through the gate onto a rough track.

The track reaches another field gate and a minor tarmac road at Johnshill farm. Turn right, and continue on this road ignoring any paths on the right all the way to Alyth. When you meet Bamff Road turn right to return to Alyth Square.
